Dumfries, VA – There is an increased demand in the communities around the Nation as well as the organizations that serve them due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus. WeSERVE has been dedicated to meeting the expanded need during this Pandemic and with the help of a few local partners, we will continue this work. On June 1, 2020, the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) awarded a $7,200 Food Grant to WeSERVE CDC! The CAFB recognizes the efforts of WeSERVE in reducing the hunger map in Northern Virginia during this unprecedented time. This grant will allow WeSERVE to stock our pantry with dry goods that can be distributed over several months. We are so grateful to have their support! Our volunteers are working tirelessly to organize each shipment of food as it’s delivered to our storehouse. A very large Thank You from WeSERVE to CAFB for their generosity with providing the necessary funding needed as we continue to support the nourishment of our community impacted during this Pandemic.
