    WeSERVE CDC, in conjunction with Praise Center COGIC, proudly presents the 2023 Fall Community Health Fair on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at 17948 Fraley Blvd, Dumfries, VA 22026. Safeway will be onsite administering COVID-19 vaccinations and Flu Shots. Biometric Screening will be available along with other Healthcare Professionals on site providing Support and coaching for the following areas: Hypertension Diabetes Weight Loss Heart Attack Stroke Mental Health Awareness FREE COMMUNITY EVENT!     WeSERVE has partnered with Praise Center Church Of God In Christ to offer support through Emergency Shelter & Disconnection Prevention services for our WeSERVE Cares Program. WeCARE will provide finances to individuals who need urgent financial support caused by and not limited to: eviction, disconnection of required utilities and/or repossession of vehicle. Supported offered on first come first served basis. Finances are based on availability. Application required with telephone interview. One allowed application per household per 180 days.

  • K-12 Learning Acceleration Grants – Virginia Residents

    K-12 Learning Acceleration Grants – Virginia Residents This $30 million is specifically for Virginia residents and provides $1,500 grants to parents of school-age children for tutoring in English, mathematics, science and history, as well as foreign languages required to meet diploma requirements. Children from homes with family incomes at 300% or less of the federal poverty level may qualify for $3,000 grants! Sign up immediately as the first $750.00 must be used by August 15, 2023! The $1,500 Grant has three requirements: Reside in Virginia Is of school- age Has not graduated The $3,000 Grant has the above requirements PLUS your household income must at 300% or less of the federal poverty level. (See chart on 2nd slide)  Homeschooled or private school students count as well.
