Emergency Shelter & Disconnection Prevention
WeSERVE has partnered with Praise Center Church Of God In Christ to offer support through Emergency Shelter & Disconnection Prevention services for our WeSERVE Cares Program. WeCARE will provide finances to individuals who need urgent financial support caused by and not limited to: eviction, disconnection of required utilities and/or repossession of vehicle. Supported offered on first come first served basis. Finances are based on availability. Application required with telephone interview. One allowed application per household per 180 days.

PRESS RELEASE For More Information DeAnn Graham WeSERVE, Program Director 571.781.2722 deann@weserveva.org For Immediate Release Dumfries, Virginia, March 10, 2023 – WeServe Community Development Corporation is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Capacity Grant from the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB). WeSERVE partners with the National Capital Region, USDA, Walmart, Food Lion, Costco and other local organizations to distribute tons of food every year to individuals in need. CAFB Funds are provided for procurement of services, equipment, and/or supplies, other than food, that will allow partners to have the greatest impact in their communities by reaching more community members in need of assistance and/or distributing a greater quantity and/or variety of food. Funds are awarded on a competitive basis based on need and expected impact. The Capacity Grant was given to support procurement of the following resources: 1 Storage Unit Outdoor Signage Gas Card Eugene McCown, President of WeSERVE said: “As we continue to expand the services provided to residents of Northern Virginia, this grant will allow us to obtain more storage area at our current location; purchase signage for our food pantry vehicle; and purchase a gas card to offset travel expenses for pickups and deliveries; allow us to store more food AND eventually distribute more food . . . making a greater difference in the lives of the people living in our area and in the Northern Virginia Community.” If you would like to help WeSERVE in its Food Distribution efforts and really make a difference in the community, get in touch with them at www.weserveva.org.

Graham Park Middle School is one of our Premier Partners, where we endeavor to build a close working relationship to meet the needs of students, families and the staff at this school. WeSERVE Awarded Human Services Grant
PRESS RELEASE For More Information DeAnn Graham WeSERVE, Program Director 571.781.2722 deann@weserveva.org For Immediate Release Dumfries, Virginia, April 17, 2021 – WeServe Community Development Corporation is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Human Services Alliance for Greater Prince William to assist in the Prince William Area Disaster Program. WeSERVE partners with the National Capital Region, USDA, Walmart, Food Lion, Costco and other local organizations to distribute tons of food every year to individuals in need. However, WeSERVE recognized to need to reach the many people who cannot travel to WeSERVE’s physical location to receive food during its monthly distribution. Eugene McCown, President of WeSERVE said: “This grant will make a huge difference in the lives of the people living in our area and in the Northern Virginia Community.” The Human Services grant will enable WeSERVE to address a greater need through the WeSERVE Mobile Food Distribution Pop-Up site. The Mobile Distribution Service will allow WeSERVE to travel along the Route 1 Corridor in Prince William County and serve individuals and families that are in need who do not have transportation to visit or transport food from our local facility. It will also enable WeSERVE to purchase and offer other healthier, more well-rounded meal items such as fresh fruit, vegetables, whole grains, protein foods and legume, to support their physical well-being. WeSERVE Awarded Food Lion Grant
Dumfries, VA – There is an increased demand in the communities around the Nation as well as the organizations that serve them due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus. WeSERVE has been dedicated to meeting the expanded need during this Pandemic and with the help of a few local partners, we will continue this work. On June 18, 2020, Food Lion, in conjunction with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB), awarded a $2,000 Grant to WeSERVE CDC! Food Lion recognizes the efforts of WeSERVE in reducing the hunger map in Northern Virginia during this unprecedented time. This grant will allow WeSERVE to stock our pantry and enhance the services provided. We are so grateful to have their support! A very large Thank You from WeSERVE to Food Lion for their generosity with providing the necessary funding needed as we continue to support the nourishment of our community impacted during this Pandemic.
