#WeSERVE Christmas Basket Giveaway
‘Tis the season to be a blessing! WeSERVE, in conjunction with Praise Center Church, the Capital Area Food Bank, Costco, and Willing Way, will be passing out food baskets on Saturday, December 19, 2020 starting at 11:00 am (while supplies last). We know that times have been difficult and we want to do our best to lift the load for those in need in our community. ALL are welcome! Note: The turkeys didn’t come in. WeSERVE Awarded Food Lion Grant
Dumfries, VA – There is an increased demand in the communities around the Nation as well as the organizations that serve them due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus. WeSERVE has been dedicated to meeting the expanded need during this Pandemic and with the help of a few local partners, we will continue this work. On June 18, 2020, Food Lion, in conjunction with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB), awarded a $2,000 Grant to WeSERVE CDC! Food Lion recognizes the efforts of WeSERVE in reducing the hunger map in Northern Virginia during this unprecedented time. This grant will allow WeSERVE to stock our pantry and enhance the services provided. We are so grateful to have their support! A very large Thank You from WeSERVE to Food Lion for their generosity with providing the necessary funding needed as we continue to support the nourishment of our community impacted during this Pandemic. WeSERVE Awarded CAFB Food Grant

On June 1, 2020, the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) awarded a $7,200 Food Grant to WeSERVE CDC! The CAFB recognizes the efforts of WeSERVE in reducing the hunger map in Northern Virginia during this unprecedented time. This grant will allow WeSERVE to stock our pantry with dry goods that can be distributed over several months. We are so grateful to have their support! Our volunteers are working tirelessly to organize each shipment of food as it’s delivered to our storehouse. A very large Thank You from WeSERVE to CAFB for their generosity with providing the necessary funding needed as we continue to support the nourishment of our community impacted during this Pandemic. #GivingTuesday Initiative
Today is #GivingTuesdayNow! WeSERVE has been a staple in the community during this critical time in history. The pandemic has swept the Nation, yet, we are doing our part to help families and communities during this difficult time. Thus far . . . We’ve donated masks & lunch to nurses on the front line, Kept our community informed with CARES Act by hosting two (2) webinars with a wealth of information, We continue to serve with Food donations via monthly Food Pantry, and have plans to expand our community support by offering online training workshops that will give our community the tools they need to soar! Your gifts will help us with “Serving Families, Meeting Needs and Building Community.” Together we not only can, but we WILL get through this!
